Sharktech is very excited to announce the coming launch of our service in Los Angeles, CA, increasing our footprint to three geographically diverse locations across the United States (Chicago, IL Denver, CO and now Los Angeles, CA). Here is a detailed overview of the facility and network at the new location, which is expected to go live by January 10,2014.

Data Center:

Our facility is located at 707 Wilshire Blvd., in downtown Los Angeles, which is North America's largest gateway to Asian Internet traffic. Our facility is equipped with dark fiber connecting directly to One Wilshire and Equinix, allowing rapid network expansion.

The facility is Tier-III rated and is served by redundant power grids, with back-up battery, diesel generators and N+1 Cooling.

IP Connectivity:

Our network will be completely redundant with multi-homed connectivity using three Tier-I providers with Multi-10GE links. The network will be completely BGP multi-homed, using Comcast, Zayo (Formerly Above.net), and Cogent Communications. The network will have the ability to expand our IP connectivity up to 320Gbps at a moment’s notice.

Network Setup:

Our Internal network will be completely redundant with multiple 10GE uplinks interconnecting our switching segments, ensuring the network is never over-subscribed. All servers will have the ability to upgrade bandwidth to Gigabit at a moment's notice.

DDoS Protection:

Our network will also be protected against Distributed Denial of Service attacks using our signature DDoS protection systems, which have been upgraded and optimized to meet the new network’s bandwidth capacity. Our DDoS protection systems will be able to handle up to 80Gbps of continuous DDoS Attacks at any given time.

Our DDoS protection re-active system has also decreased the time it takes to detect and mitigate an incoming DDoS attack to less than a few seconds.

We are also working on further major upgrades to our DDoS protection system, providing functionality and automated reporting to our customers.

Services Available:

Dedicated Servers: We will only be providing brand-name (SuperMicro and DELL) servers running Xeon processors. All servers will come with IPMI (Remote Console) and Remote Reboot Power included at no extra cost. Servers will be available in 100Mbps and Gigabit network connectivity.

All servers will come with Windows Web or Standard Licensing and/or cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin Licensing at no extra cost.

Cloud Virtual Service:  We will be expanding our Virtual Service to LA using Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 with redundant Solid State Drives (SSD) and 10 KRPM Serial Attached SCSI Storage.

We will provide our customers more information as the work progresses on setting up our network. Once the network is operational, we will provide you IP information and looking-glass access to view network latency and speed.
